Kachní sezóna

Nuda v Ciudad de México. Jedno dlouhé nedělní odpoledne, kdy konečně zůstanou Moko a Flama, dva nerozluční kamarádi, sami doma. Jejich původní přestava o smysluplně využitém čase (pití koly, hraní videoher a pojídání pizzy) se bohužel poněkud zvrtne. Začne to neodbytnou mladou sousedkou, která chce mermomocí upéct v jejich troubě koláč, pokračuje přes opakované výpadky proudu a skončí nečekaně dlouhým pobytem rozvažeče pizzy. A kluci se toho dne dozví vše podstatné o životě – o přátelství, lásce, sexu, drogách, osamělosti, snech a realitě. Příběh, který by se mohl odehrát na kterémkoli z panelákových sídlišť této planety a v tom je jeho kouzlo, chingada :-)

Before going to the film I had read quite a lot about what it was going to be about. Trailer, photos, reviews... So I had some expectations. The film fulfilled them entirely. First, I liked that the gaudiness, present in quite a few mainstream productions, is missing. Just a plain story with plain events that sometimes reminded me of my young years. - Like the mother telling the boys to mind the gas oven. Or the notion of spending the whole afternoon playing computer games. Or, after all, the adolescent friendship/love among good friends: being a macho outwards and hide tender feelings and confusion inside. Normal events take on a more metaphorical meanings - the true nature being uncovered only in hints. Like in everyday life. I think the message of the piece could be that one should stop pretending, killing the time uselessly and start being authentic. But maybe I'm just pathetic :)
